Amir Shaikh Takes Initiative to Support Flood Victims in Kolhapur and Sangli
Pune: During the devastating floods that struck Kolhapur and Sangli districts in 2021, causing widespread damage and disruption to normal life, Amir Shaikh, Vice President of the Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe Research and Training Institute, took a proactive step to extend support to the affected families.
The severe floods left many families homeless and without basic necessities. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Amir Shaikh immediately organized and dispatched relief ration kits to the flood-affected areas. These kits contained essential food grains and daily-use items, with special focus on reaching the most severely affected and remote regions.
Speaking about the initiative, Amir Shaikh said, “The thoughts and ideology of Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe inspire us to serve the common people. In this time of crisis faced by our brothers and sisters in Western Maharashtra, it is our moral and social responsibility to stand by them and provide support.”
The relief materials were distributed with the assistance of local volunteers, ensuring timely and effective help to those in need. Citizens and social activists from Kolhapur and Sangli have expressed their appreciation for Amir Shaikh’s compassionate and timely efforts during the crisis.
