"Need to be more focused": Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi delivers a strong message to players following their third defeat.

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) [India], October 22: After suffering their third defeat in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season, Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto emphasized the team's need for improvement on both offense and defense.

Hyderabad FC managed to score their first goal of the season against Jamshedpur FC, with Cy Goddard netting early in the second half. However, first-half goals from Rei Tachikawa and Jordan Murray secured a win for Khalid Jamil's team.

The visitors began the match positively but struggled to maintain their early momentum, allowing the home side to take control as the game progressed.

In the post-match press conference, Singto reflected on his team's performance and the challenges they faced during the match. 

"The first 30 minutes were among the best football we've played so far. However, what transpired after that was a different story. Before Jamshedpur FC scored, we were controlling the game and pushing them back," Singto stated, as reported by ISL.

"But perhaps football requires concentration, and a lack of communication led to that cross. We need to improve defensively and be sharper," he added.

Although the wait for their first goal of the season was finally over, Hyderabad FC's moments of brilliance were not enough to secure points, as the hosts utilized their experience to claim victory.

"At least we scored our first goal of the season, although we fell short in performance. We were pleased with the first half and at times, but we need to secure results. It's important to win for everyone involved, so we must keep working hard," Singto expressed.

The visitors held more possession and had more shots on target, registering eight compared to Jamshedpur FC's five.

Singto commended his players for their efforts, especially young winger Ramhlunchhunga, who posed a threat to Jamshedpur FC on several occasions but could not help secure a second point of the season.

"Some players really stepped up today. Ramhlunchhunga had an outstanding game! He may be the smallest player on the pitch, but he was active all over with some good shots on target," he noted.

"However, we need to be more clinical; football is about goals. To earn three points, you have to score. We managed to score, but Jamshedpur FC scored two. Hopefully, in the next match, we'll be better prepared, avoid conceding, and score," the head coach concluded.
