Skill Development Minister Jayant Chaudhary stated that the Modi government is committed to achieving its goals and even surpassing them
New Delhi [India], September 19: Minister of State (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary announced on Thursday that the government had set a goal to skill 100,000 women within the first hundred days of its term. However, it has exceeded this target by training 500,000 women under the Prime Minister’s skilling scheme.
In an interview, Chaudhary stated, "We established clear targets, including skilling women in various fields. Initially, the goal was to skill 150,000 women within the first hundred days of the Modi government, but we have surpassed this by training 500,000 women through the Prime Minister's skilling scheme."
He added, "Over the first hundred days, we have learned a lot and, as the Minister for Education and Skill Development, I am focused on ensuring transparency and coordination within the system. Although managing the ministry for the first time is challenging, I am dedicated to achieving our targets. We have also surpassed many other initial targets during this period."
Chaudhary praised the Union Cabinet's decision to pursue the "One Nation, One Election" proposal, calling it a move to strengthen democracy.
"The Cabinet has decided on this matter after extensive discussion. It’s important to reflect carefully before making any statements. The government is making significant decisions to enhance democracy. A committee has been formed, led by our former President, to review this issue, and a law commission report is available. All parties have been consulted, and we need to carefully consider the proposal before commenting," he said.
He continued, "We should wait to see the bill and how it evolves through both houses of Parliament. Any amendments will be considered. It is crucial for the public to trust that the government is making decisions that will fortify democracy. My understanding is that we should observe the final form of the bill before making further comments."
