Chhattisgarh: Clash erupts between security forces and Naxals in Abujhmad
Kanker (Chhattisgarh), August 29: An exchange of gunfire occurred between security forces and Naxals in the forests of Abujhmad, Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh on Thursday morning, according to officials.
The clash began around 8:00 am during a search operation conducted by a joint police team. Inspector General of Bastar, P. Sundarraj, stated that intelligence had indicated Maoist presence in the Mand area near the Narayanpur-Kanker border, prompting the search operation.
"An encounter between the police and Maoists has been ongoing since 8:00 am this morning," Sundarraj reported. "All personnel are safe, and the search operation continues."

In a related incident in July, a Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. According to Bijapur police, the clash involved Telangana Greyhounds, Chhattisgarh District Reserve Guards (DRG), and Naxals in the Semaldodi forests on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
