An Indian passenger bus carrying 40 people plunged into the Marayangdi River in Nepal
Kathmandu [Nepal], August 23: A passenger bus with an Uttar Pradesh number plate, carrying at least 40 people, plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal's Tanahun district, according to Nepal police.Â
DSP Deepkumar Raya from the District Police Office Tanahun confirmed that the bus, with the number plate UP FT 7623, is now lying on the riverbank. The bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu at the time of the accident.
The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner has stated that efforts are underway to determine if any passengers from Uttar Pradesh were on the bus.
Further details on the incident are awaited. This follows a similar tragedy in July, when 65 people were swept into the Trishuli River in Nepal, involving two buses during heavy rainfall.
