Arvind Kejriwal has left his official residence and relocated to a bungalow belonging to a party MP in Lutyens' Delhi.

New Delhi, October 4: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated his residence at 6 Flagstaff Road on Friday to relocate to a new address in the Lutyens' Zone.

Kejriwal has moved to a bungalow at 5 Ferozshah Road, currently assigned to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal.

The Aam Aadmi Party described Kejriwal as "an example of sacrifice," stating that the public will trust his integrity and support him for the Chief Minister position once again. "An example of sacrifice: Kejriwal. Today, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated the Chief Minister's residence with his family. The public will demonstrate their trust in Kejriwal's honesty and elect him as CM again," the AAP posted on X.

The party continued, "Arvind Kejriwal, the champion of 'politics of work,' left the CM residence and returned to the public. He began a new chapter in politics by illuminating millions of homes in Delhi and departed from the Chief Minister's residence today with his family."

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party confirmed, "Arvind Kejriwal will shift to the bungalow allocated to party MP Ashok Mittal at 5 Ferozshah Road." Notably, sources indicated that Mittal personally offered his residence to Kejriwal.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal expressed his happiness that Kejriwal would be staying with him. "When Arvind Kejriwal resigned as CM a few days ago, I later learned that he had no place to stay. I invited him to live in my Delhi house as my guest. Other party workers and leaders also extended their invitations. I am thrilled that he chose my home and decided to stay with me until he finds a house. This is delightful for me as an AAP worker and MP, as I will have the opportunity to learn from him. I hope that in the upcoming Delhi elections, the public will support him as always, and he will once again become the CM of Delhi with an absolute majority," said Mittal.

On September 17, Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister to Delhi LG VK Saxena, after which Atishi claimed to form the new government shortly after Kejriwal was released on bail in the excise policy case.

Kejriwal stated that he would return to the post only if he receives a renewed mandate and a "certificate of honesty" from the people of Delhi in the assembly polls, which are likely to be held in February 2025.

Atishi took her oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi on September 22 after being named as Kejriwal's successor.
