Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 16 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday said something regarding the supposed attack on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal saying that her party remained with ladies against any attrocity.
Addressing ANI while on the battle field in Raebareli, Priyanka Gandhi said " On the off chance that any outrage happens to any lady anyplace, we stand with the lady. I generally stand with ladies - regardless of which party they have a place with. Besides, AAP will examine in the midst of themselves and pursue a choice. It depends on them."
Prior, All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba had said that Swati Maliwal was a tough lady who might approach and take the legitimate course on the issue.
"On account of Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, after the question and answer session of AAP pioneer Sanjay Singh ji, it has been affirmed that some undesirable episode has occurred with Swati Maliwal ji in the CM home, and her party stands firmly with her. On Thursday morning, as Kejriwal entered the scene for his public interview with Samajwadi Party Boss Akhilesh Yadav correspondents endeavored to address him on the supposed attack on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The AAP supremo anyway would not address any inquiries.
During the public interview when the issue was raised, Akhilesh Yadav forgot about the inquiry saying "There are different issues that are a higher priority than this."
It was then passed on to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh to safeguard his party. The AAP MP blamed the BJP for playing political games on the issue and claimed that the BJP had been behind Swati Maliwal being hauled and mistreated by Delhi police during the grapplers' dissent at Jantar Mantar.
"Aam Aadmi Party is our loved ones. The party has taken a reasonable stand on this issue...Can they reply looking into it of Swati Maliwal, when she went to battle for equity for ladies grapplers at Jantar Mantar, they made the police drag and beat her up. Try not to play political games on this," Singh expressed addressing correspondents.
The BJP blamed the AAP for neglecting to act against Bibhav Kumar the Dad to Arvind Kejriwal who was supposedly behind the attack on Maliwal. Imparting an image of Bibhav to Arvind Kejriwal at the Lucknow air terminal the BJP scrutinized the AAP for not acting against him in spite of a confirmation from party MP Sanjay Singh.
BJP public representative Gaurav Bhatia holding a public interview on Thursday addressed Kejriwal for his quietness on the issue and looked for his renunciation.
