Delhi Police have apprehended an individual involved in stealing medical equipment
New Delhi [India], August 31: Delhi Police have arrested Yogesh Kumar, who allegedly stole high-value medical equipment from hospitals by posing as a representative. Kumar, apprehended on August 29, admitted to stealing medical equipment valued between four and five lakhs.
The stolen items, including an indirect ophthalmoscope and a scan pachymeter, were recovered from Kumar. The case was initially reported on August 19 by Max Hospital, Saket, which had discovered the theft of an indirect ophthalmoscope. The police identified Kumar through CCTV footage and technical evidence.
Kumar, a 55-year-old resident of Shahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was working for a company that supplies medical equipment to hospitals. He is implicated in thefts at both Max Hospital and Yashoda Hospital, Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh.
In a separate operation, Delhi Police also arrested 17 individuals involved in various cybercrimes. The arrests were made during a series of raids conducted across several states, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai.
