ITC Maurya welcomes the Olympic team and NRAI, focusing on preparations for the 2028 LA Olympics
New Delhi [India], August 31: ITC Maurya, in collaboration with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), hosted a grand event to honor the Indian Olympic shooting team.Â
Amaan Kidwai, Area Manager-Luxury Collection North & General Manager of ITC Maurya, expressed his admiration for the athletes and their success at the Paris Olympics. He praised their dedication and noted the honor of hosting the celebration.
The venue was decorated with Olympic-themed elements, including floral arrangements depicting the Olympic rings, a special cake, and themed amenities in the rooms.Â
Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, acting president of the NRAI, highlighted the historic achievements of the Indian shooters, noting the unprecedented three medals won in a single Olympics and a single athlete’s dual-medal success. He announced cash rewards and recognition for the athletes.
Bronze medalist Sarabjot Singh shared his excitement and ambition to win gold in future competitions, focusing on upcoming nationals and the World Cup. Swapnil Kusale also expressed his pride in winning medals and his determination to aim for gold.
Manu Bhaker, who made history by securing two medals at the Paris Olympics, talked about shifting focus to future competitions and setting sights on the 2028 LA Olympics. She also congratulated Avani, a Paralympic gold medalist, for her inspiring journey and achievements.
The event concluded with the athletes receiving rewards and mementoes, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony themed around the Olympics and shooting.
