J-K: Body of abducted Territorial Army soldier discovered with gunshot wounds in Anantnag.
Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 9 :Â Security forces have recovered the body of a Territorial Army soldier who was abducted by terrorists in the Anantnag region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources identified the soldier as Hilal Ahmad Bhath, whose body was found with gunshot wounds in a forested area of the Anantnag district.
"The soldier had been missing since Tuesday, and search operations were being conducted by the security forces," sources said.
On October 8, a joint counter-terrorism operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other agencies in the Kazwan Forest in Kokernag. The operation continued overnight as one Territorial Army soldier had been reported missing.
According to sources, two Territorial Army soldiers were allegedly abducted from the forest area in Anantnag, but one managed to escape.
"Two Territorial Army soldiers were kidnapped by terrorists in the Anantnag forest area. However, one soldier managed to return. Security forces have launched a search operation for the missing soldier," sources added.
Earlier, on October 5, two terrorists were neutralized, and a large quantity of "warlike stores" was recovered after a joint anti-terrorism operation in Kupwara district, according to a statement from the Indian Army.
The operation, conducted by the Army, BSF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, was launched on October 4 in the Keran sector of Kupwara district.
This followed intelligence received by security personnel on October 3 about potential terrorist movement in the Keran Sector, likely intending to infiltrate the area.
