Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are scheduled to give their first joint interview ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential elections

Washington DC [United States], August 28: In the lead-up to the US presidential elections set for November this year, Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to participate in a joint interview with Tim Walz, her running mate for the election, as reported by The Hill.

Harris and Minnesota Governor Walz will appear together in their first joint interview on CNN this Thursday. The interview, conducted by CNN’s Dana Bash, is scheduled to air at 9 pm EDT, according to The Hill.

Previously, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accepted a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, outlining specific conditions and rules for the face-off.

Trump shared on the social media platform Truth, stating, "I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be broadcast live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."

Harris was nominated as the Democratic candidate after President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race, amid growing concerns over his age, particularly following his performance in the debate with Donald Trump in June.

If elected, the 59-year-old Harris would make history as the first woman to become the US president. She is also only the second woman ever nominated for the presidency by a major political party.

Meanwhile, Trump, aiming for a return to the White House after his 2020 defeat, has chosen JD Vance, a venture capitalist and the acclaimed author of the best-selling memoir 'Hillbilly Elegy,' as his running mate.
