Prime Minister Modi stated that the Congress party aims to create divisions among Hindus for political advantage.
A day after achieving a historic victory in the Haryana Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday strongly criticized the Congress party, accusing them of creating divisions within Hindu society for political benefits.
The Prime Minister virtually laid the foundation stone for several development projects in Maharashtra worth over Rs 7600 crore on Wednesday.
During his virtual address, PM Modi stated, "Just yesterday, the election results from Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir were announced. Haryana has reflected the nation's sentiment. It is remarkable to be elected for the third consecutive time after completing two terms."
He further added, "Congress’s policy is to pit one Hindu caste against another. They believe the more divided Hindus are, the more they stand to gain. Congress wants to fuel division within the Hindu community for political advantage. Wherever elections take place in India, Congress employs this strategy."
PM Modi also alleged that the Congress party tried to mislead various sections of the public, including Dalits, farmers, and youth, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
"The entire Congress ecosystem and the urban Naxal gang were focused on misleading the public. However, all of Congress's conspiracies failed. They tried to spread falsehoods among Dalits, but the community saw through their harmful intentions. Dalits realized that Congress aimed to split their vote by taking away their reservations," he remarked.
Highlighting the satisfaction of Haryana’s farmers with BJP’s welfare initiatives, PM Modi said, "The Dalit community in Haryana has given unprecedented support to the BJP. The OBCs in Haryana are also backing BJP after witnessing its development work. Congress tried to incite the farmers, but they know who provided them with MSP for their crops. Farmers in Haryana are pleased with BJP's welfare schemes."
He also mentioned, "Congress targeted the youth and tried to provoke them in various ways, but the youth of Haryana, along with our sisters and daughters, trust only BJP for their future."
The Prime Minister went on to congratulate the people of Maharashtra on the various development projects initiated that day.
"Maharashtra is receiving the gift of 10 new medical colleges today. The foundation stones for two major infrastructure projects—the modernization and expansion of Nagpur Airport and the construction of a new terminal building for Shirdi Airport—have also been laid. I congratulate the people of Maharashtra for these developments," he said.
PM Modi also accused Congress of widespread corruption during their rule, in contrast to the current pace and scale of development.
"Never in Maharashtra's history has development across various sectors occurred at such a rapid pace and on such a large scale. However, under Congress's rule, corruption certainly happened at the same pace and scale," he commented.
Focusing on the recognition of Marathi as a Classical Language, the Prime Minister added, "A few days ago, we granted Marathi the status of a Classical Language. When a language receives such recognition, it empowers not just the words but entire generations. The decades-old dream of millions of Marathi speakers has finally been realized."
"People across Maharashtra are celebrating this achievement. I have received messages of joy from every village in Maharashtra. They are thanking me for granting Marathi the status of a Classical Language, but I want to say that this was accomplished not by me alone, but by your blessings," he concluded.
