Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a series of development projects in Gujarat, with a combined value of Rs 4,800 crore.
Gandhinagar, Gujarat, October 25 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects totaling over Rs 4,800 crore in Gujarat’s Amreli district on October 28, including approximately 1,600 initiatives spanning the districts of Amreli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kutch, and Botad, according to an official release.
The release outlines that PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundations for water supply projects valued at Rs 705 crore, including the Bharatmata Sarovar, constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crore on the Gagadio river in Amreli.
Additionally, he will inaugurate 1,000 projects focused on pit, bore, and well recharge, along with 590 initiatives valued at Rs 20 crore under the Water Resource Department.
Further, the Prime Minister will inaugurate National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) projects worth more than Rs 2,800 crore and launch the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project, costing Rs 1,094 crore, under the Railway Department.
The release highlights the inauguration of the Navda to Chavand bulk pipeline for Botad district and the foundation laying for the Pasavi Group Augmentation Water Supply Scheme Phase 2 in Bhavnagar district.
The Navda to Chavand pipeline project aims to provide an additional 28 crore liters of water to 1,298 villages and 36 towns across Botad, Amreli, Junagadh, Rajkot, and Porbandar districts, benefiting around 6.7 million residents. In Bhavnagar district, water schemes will cover 95 villages in Mahuva, Talaja, and Palitana talukas, benefiting around 2.75 lakh people.
In collaboration with the Dholakia Foundation, the Gujarat Government constructed the Bharatmata Sarovar near Het Ni Haveli in Dudhala, Lathi, at a cost of Rs 35 crore under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The reservoir, with a storage capacity expanded to 24.50 crore liters, now provides enhanced groundwater levels, offering indirect irrigation benefits to neighboring villages.
PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundations for NHAI projects worth Rs 2,811 crore, including four projects totaling Rs 2,185 crore and another project worth Rs 626 crore.
These four NHAI projects feature the four-laning of the Dhrol-Bhadra-Patiya sections of NH 151A at Rs 768 crore and the Dwarka-Khambhaliya-Devariya sections of NH 151A at Rs 1,025 crore. A foundation stone will also be laid for a four-lane road extending from Dhrol Bypass in Jamnagar to Amran in Morbi district, valued at Rs 626 crore.
On October 28, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Rs 1,094 crore Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project, which includes 24 major and 254 minor bridges, along with 3 road overbridges and 30 road underbridges, aimed at bolstering socio-economic development in Kutch.
He will also initiate tourism projects worth Rs 200 crore, including the eco-tourism development of the Karli Recharge Reservoir in Mokarsagar, Porbandar, promoting sustainable tourism.
