Security has been enhanced at Salman Khan's home following recent death threats directed at the actor
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 18 :Â Security measures have been strengthened at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Mumbai, Maharashtra, following new death threats received on October 18, 2024, demanding an extortion payment of Rs 5 crore.Â
According to the Mumbai Police, a threatening message was sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police, in which the sender demanded Rs 5 crore from Salman Khan "to end his long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi." The individual claimed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and warned that Khan's life was in danger if the extortion money was not paid.
The message stated, "Don't take it lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wishes to resolve the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan's condition will be worse than Baba Siddique's." This threat follows the recent murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique.
The Worli Police have registered a case regarding the threats and are actively investigating the origins and motives behind this alarming communication. Following Siddique's assassination outside his office on October 12, the police have intensified efforts to locate the suspects involved.
A look-out circular has been issued for Shubham Lonkar, along with two other suspects, Shiv Kumar Gautam and Zeeshan Akhtar, who are believed to be attempting to flee to Nepal. Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the murdered NCP leader, has called for justice and warned against politicizing the tragedy.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured the public that those responsible for such crimes will face severe consequences. "No one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty," Shinde emphasized.
As the investigation continues, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four individuals related to Siddique's murder, while three still remain at large.
