Tamil Nadu: Jumbo rejected by mom taken to 'elephant feeding camp'

Nilgiris (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 10 Days after a child elephant was dismissed by its mom, the enormous was taken to an 'elephant taking care of camp' at the Mudumalai Public Park in the Nilgiris locale of Tamil Nadu, on Sunday.

In the camp, the authorities of the backwoods division Dr Rajesh and Dr Sukumar analyzed the wellbeing of the child elephant. After checking, it appeared to be sound and weighed around 150 kilograms. It was then taken care of lactose milk.

Apparently, the elephant calf was isolated from its mom in the Marudamalai backwoods region, close to Thondamuthur in the Coimbatore area.

The episode happened on May 30, while the debilitated mother elephant was tracked down lying on the ground with a troubled three-month-old male calf close to her. The remainder of the crowd were available in neighboring woods.

Acting expeditiously, a group of woods authorities lifted the mother with the assistance of a crane and took her for three days in length treatment. After her wellbeing improved, she was delivered into the woods.

After this episode, the group observed that the elephant calf was abandoned in the backwoods region and took him to the lower regions of Marudamalai, trying to track down his mom and rejoin them.

The authorities of the backwoods division detected the mother and endeavored to lead the calf towards his mom however she dismissed the calf and took off.

Talking with ANI, the backwoods veterinarian Dr. Sukumar said, "On May 30, we got data about a debilitated female elephant resting in the Madumalai timberland range in Coimbatore, with the child remaining close to her."

"Backwoods division staff raced to the spot to give treatment to the mother elephant on May 31 and lifted her with the assistance of a crane. The child which couldn't get the milk, moved inside the timberland," Dr Sukumar said.

He further said, "After she got back to the woodland, the timberland division authorities attempted to rejoin the calf with its mom however all endeavors fizzled. In this way, according to the exhortation of the Main Natural life Conservator of the woodland, the calf was shipped off Mudumalai Elephant Camp where the child elephant will be dealt with by the Mudumalai Backwoods division."

This is the third child elephant that got isolated from his mom. Such occurrences of calves getting isolated from their mom have altogether expanded nearby.
