The Lok Sabha Speaker has established six new parliamentary committees for the 2024-25 session
New Delhi [India], August 17 : The Lok Sabha Speaker has announced the formation of six new parliamentary committees for the 2024-25 session. The appointments include:
- Ganesh Singh(BJP MP from Satna, Madhya Pradesh) as Chairperson of the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes. This committee, established in 2012, reviews welfare measures for OBCs and considers reports from the National Commission for Backward Classes.
- Dr. Faggan Singh Kulaste (BJP MP from Mandla) as Chairperson of the Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- Baijyant Panda (BJP MP from Kendrapara, Odisha) as Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings. This committee reviews the performance of public sector undertakings (PSUs) and assesses their impact on the economy and citizens' lives.
- KC Venugopal (Senior Congress MP) as Chairperson of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC). The PAC examines the appropriation accounts of government ministries and reviews the CAG reports.
- Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal (BJP MP) as Chairperson of the Committee on Estimates. This committee examines budget estimates for administrative departments and suggests improvements in efficiency and administrative reforms.
