"We were the superior team," stated Mumbai City head coach Petr Kratky following the draw with Bengaluru.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 3: After the match, head coach Petr Kratky expressed that he believed his team was superior at the Mumbai Football Arena.

The Islanders had more clear chances but failed to convert, extending their winless streak to three games, following a draw with Mohun Bagan SG and a loss to Jamshedpur FC.

During the post-match press conference, Kratky reflected on the game, stating, "I think we were the better team. We pushed hard in the first half, and there are many positives to take from this match."

He emphasized the team's new beginning, saying, "It's a new team and a new season. This season will be completely different. We need to start somewhere, and I see a bright future ahead. We must keep working and improve every day."

The Islanders faced strong opponents in Bengaluru FC, who had won all three of their previous matches this season without conceding a goal.

Kratky revealed that he had to adjust his game plan to meet the challenges posed by Bengaluru FC. 

"Bengaluru FC is a very strong team, and they have four clean sheets for a reason. Playing long was part of our strategy today. Bengaluru FC presses very well. While we want to play attractive football, we also aim to win, so adjustments are necessary. We also prefer to build from the back, but we must understand when to do that and against which opposition. Therefore, we decided not to play that way today. However, the execution could have been better in some areas," he noted.

Mumbai City FC will next face FC Goa after the international break before returning home to play against Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters FC within a week.
